The participles below are unattached to the correct noun.
Rewrite the sentences with the correct (or suitable) subject.

1. Walking along the coastline, many sand worms were collected.
2. Using an X-ray camera, the dinosaur bones were described in detail.
3. Counting every car as it passed, the traffic census filled several volumes.
4. After gathering data for many weeks, the hens laid more eggs per week.
5. Speaking of travel problems, Greenland has few roads and no railways.

Colloquial or everyday English.

The following sentences use colloquial English which is not acceptable in a scientific report. 
Rewrite the sentences with an appropriate scientific word.

1. The mineral has got a yellow colour.
2. We collected a lot of funny animals.
3. The experiment was nicely organized.
4. Our new results are very different.
5. It was hard to find big samples.

Short form of verbs (contractions).

Short forms of verbs are not acceptable in a formal scientific report.
Rewrite the following sentences using the long form.
